Life hasn't been easy on sixteen-year-old Emma Conner, so a new start in New York may be just the change she needs. But the posh Upper East Side prep school she has to attend? Not so much. Friendly faces are few and far between, except for one that she's irresistibly drawn to—Brendan Salinger, the guy with the rock-star good looks and the richest kid in school, who might just be her very own white knight.
But even when Brendan inexplicably turns cold, Emma can't stop staring. Ever since she laid eyes on him, strange things have been happening. Streetlamps go out wherever she walks, and Emma's been having the oddest dreams: visions of herself in past lives—visions that warn her to stay away from Brendan. Or else.

My quick wicked thoughts...I really fell into this book and loved the romance and action!  If you love a good love story, this is for you.

Why I was tempted to read this...It sounded pretty interesting and an interesting twist to the paranormal genre.

Cover thoughts...It's pretty cool..a little plain.

Romance meter...At first...not so much. I was more mad at Brendan for being so nice and then rude, and I wasn't sure what his deal was.  When he came clean with what was going on, the romance heated up in big way.

Characters and plot...I liked both the main characters in this book.  I thought Emma was engaging and funny and I liked that she stood up for herself against the popular bullies.  I did question her judgement a couple of times for doing things that she obviously shouldn't have done, but it made a great storyline.  Brendan was of course you gotta love that.  He was rich but not at all stuck up or showy.  I liked that he was his own person and did not try to mold himself to fit in, regardless of how much his parents pushed him.

The ending..the ending was great, I would love to see a spinoff or a second book in this series!
